This blog was initially started back in 2006 as a travelogue for my friends and family when I was a Fulbright Fellow in Austria. It then morphed in to a political blog when I was working on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Eventually, in 2008, I lost interest in blogging and returned from D.C. to my home town. As a result this blog was shut down completely.
So, you may ask, why now and why?
My wife and I are in the process of applying to the Peace Corps and I want to share our experiences with those that may be interested. I am also still involved in politics and graduate school and I would like to have a platform to share my thoughts and idea, if for no one else… myself. Finally, I am interested in losing weight and cycling and would also like to share my thoughts on these subjects.
I hope you enjoy!
This blog is in no way related or affiliated with the good folks at Radio Free Europe/Voice of America. I DO, however, respect their work and hope they don’t mind my co-opting of their name. I also am not a representative, recruiter, or otherwise in any way affiliated with the Peace Corps, the US State Department, &c. All of these thoughts and ideas are my own, except the ones I stole.
